Community Development and Resourcing.

We are open Monday to Friday, 9am to 4pm.

We operate a community centre that includes a hall and a cottage with offices, a kitchen and a lounge. It’s a place of respite, a social hub where residents in Bidwill gather, a centre for technology services, and a place of worship and community.

Above all, we aim to build long term relationships with residents and groups in order to support them to achieve their goals and contribute positively to their own lives and the lives of their families, friends, neighbours and community. We do this through a variety of activities that change and come and go depending on what the community wants and needs at any given time.

We aim to work with local residents in order to:DSC_0611

  • Build their capacity, skills, knowledge and understanding of the world around them;
  • Develop healthy relationships with their families, friends and neighbours;
  • Develop healthy responses to emotions and conflict;
  • Develop healthy ways of managing mental health issues;
  • Pursue interests that make them happy; and
  • Contribute to their community in meaningful ways.

General Community Support:

We provide general community support to local residents in the form of a listening ear, informal case work, pastoral care, crisis support, referrals, and access to resources such as computers, internet and phone.

Resourcing- People can come to Bidwill Uniting for:IMG_9887

  • Use of the computers;
  • Internet access;
  • Making phone calls;
  • Access to information about other services and groups;
  • Use of meeting spaces and/or spaces to conduct projects; and
  • Participation in programs and projects using the centre.

Room  and Hall Hire:

The hall and community room are are available for use by community and church groups at reasonable rates.
